The Digital Health Hackathon 2026 is an exciting 48-hour innovation challenge bringing together students, researchers, healthcare professionals, developers, engineers and innovators to tackle real-world healthcare challenges through technology.
The event is organised by the IEEE Malta Section and the University of Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) and the University of Malta.

Together, these organisations will help shape real-world digital health challenges and support participants with expertise, mentoring and sector knowledge.

The venue will provide dedicated meeting rooms, collaborative spaces and resources to support teams throughout the 48-hour challenge.
What to Expect
Participants will work intensively over 48 hours to develop innovative solutions addressing real healthcare and wellbeing challenges.
The event will include:
- Real-world challenges developed with healthcare, public-sector and technology organisations
- Mentoring from experts in healthcare, engineering, artificial intelligence and digital health
- Multidisciplinary teamwork
