DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the Next Generation of Engineering and ICT Innovators\nThe IEEE Malta Section is pleased to announce the IEEE Malta Section Final Year Project Awards 2026\, recognising outstanding Final Year Projects completed by students in Engineering and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) programmes at the University of Malta and MCAST. \nThese awards celebrate excellence in innovation\, technical achievement\, research\, creativity and the practical application of engineering and computing knowledge to real-world challenges. \nAs part of IEEE Malta’s commitment to supporting students and fostering technological innovation\, shortlisted participants will have the opportunity to present their projects before a panel of academics\, industry experts and IEEE professionals. \nThe IEEE Malta Section Final Year Project Awards aim to: \n\nRecognise and celebrate student excellence.\nShowcase innovative research and development undertaken by Malta’s future engineers and technology professionals.\nProvide students with experience presenting their work to industry and academic experts.\nEncourage innovation\, entrepreneurship and technical excellence.\nStrengthen links between academia\, industry and the professional community.\nPromote awareness of emerging technologies and research taking place within Malta’s educational institutions.\n\nAwards Ceremony\nWinners will be recognised during a dedicated IEEE Malta Section awards ceremony\, where prizes and certificates will be presented to the highest-ranked projects in each category. \nThe awards provide an opportunity for students to gain recognition for their achievements and showcase their work to professionals from across Malta’s technology and engineering sectors.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting line-up of activities at FICT EXPO 2026\, to be held on Friday 3 July 2026\, at the Faculty of ICT\, the University of Malta. \nWith the theme of this year’s FICT EXPO being FICT@UM: Ideas in Action\, the event is designed to inspire and educate. \nExplore over 90 final-year ICT student projects. \nThe main stage will host keynote speakers\, talks and panel discussions. \nThere will also be four breakout sessions\, which you may register for online\, that will be held at the Informatics Lab (Block B\, Level -1\, Room 2)\, Faculty of ICT Building: \n\nBreakout Session 1 (9:30): The Security Imperative: Lessons learned about the impact of people\, process\, and regulation on an effective cyber security practice by ICT Solutions\nBreakout Session 2 (10:30): Turning AI Theory into Practice: Inside Modern Consulting by KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions\nBreakout Session 3 (11:30): Agentic AI in the Enterprise by EY\nBreakout Session 4 (12:30): Postgraduate Opportunities @ UM by the Faculty of ICT\, University of Malta\nAwards Night\, which is by invitation only\, will be held at 17:30.\n\nOn Saturday 4 July\, the labs at the Faculty of ICT will be open from 10:00 till 12:30\, and the public may take tours of the MEMS Lab\, meet Pepper the semi-humanoid robot\, and engage with the roboteers at the IEEE Robot Championship\, as well as test their knowledge with computer science games. \nFor more information about the activities\, breakout sessions\, talks\, panel discussions\, and distinguished guests\, visit the website.
